Self-Facilitating Media Nodes take a camera to a CAMRA beer festival.

My magic telly recorder machine thingy also picked this up (with aspect ratio gremlins).

Note the mention of "the disease of lager" and "war against fizzy beers and lager".

That's the London Drinker, isn't it? I'm guessing not the most recent one, as it was only a week or so ago.

Is the N London chairman off his nut? He takes about the war against "fizzy beers and lagers" yet a few metres away their foreign beer bar is selling numerous draught and bottled fizzy beers and even - yes - LAGERS. And bloody great they are too.

Good cask ale is easy to find, especially in a place like London. For me, festivals are a place to try the unusual stuff, which lately for me has been another way of saying "foreign".

God this depresses me so much.

Well it depresses me too. It must be a southern thing this. I've not seen so many unreconstructed stereotypes in one sitting ever.

Mind you. I might just be a little suspicious about the editing and the intended outcome.

I'd guess a different intention might have lead to a different film clip, but it does make you shudder.

That was disturbing!

I have found all the anti-camra rants on various blogs rather tiresome of late but I have never been to a CAMRA beer festival. Seeing that vid however makes me appreciate the antis a bit more.

I certainly hope editing is to blame.

The editing (and "questioning" of the presenters) certainly skewed the vox pops of the festival goers. They'd obviously picked the "characters". But the chairman condemns himself with his own words. Ugh.

I've spent an awful lot of time over the last five years doing my modest bit to encourage people to try great beer (be it real ale or not) and to forget 'inaccurate' stereotypes of beer drinkers. This makes me think that time could have been more constructively spent alternately playing video games and masturbating furiously.

Course the editing and questioning made it worse. But those aren't actors.

Cue several days thinking, "Oh, what's the point?"
