Some Armchair Beerology

Please take my survey:   goo.gl/gFYQo

I don't want to give to much away at the moment. I don't want to give you any prompts that affect your response, so please bear with the lack of info for the time being.

I'm aiming to get a minimum of 100 responses so please pass the link on to your beer-drinking friends.

Hmm, isn't the general tenor of this survey distinctly loaded? And surely there is a big difference between people who protest against things because they want to impose their own orthodoxy on society, and people who protest because they are genuinely concerned about tolerance and diversity.

For example, question 2 "Women should have to promise to obey their husbands when they get married." has two distinctly different polar opposites:

A. Women should not be allowed to promise to obey their husbands, and
B. Women should not be forced to promise to obey their husbands, but should be allowed to do so if they wish

When I get around to explaining the survey, you can read up on its academic origins.

Sorry could not get through the first load of questions. I hate this type of questionnaire, I have opinions on each one of those questions but none of them respond to an agree or disagree dropbox, without a huge number of questions and qualifications.

far too many long words what I didn't understand so I gave up half way through. sorry.

I'll have to be honest and say that it is loaded and all the questions have a heavy unwritten bias that says "if you don't answer these the right way it proves you are a right wing religious nutter".......

I don't believe I am a right wing religious nutter, but I have a perfect right to be one if I choose.

Also, on the marriage bit, and it's a long time since I took any notice, but my own experience was a significant insistence that both sets of vows showed no sexist bias.

Dave, what you perceive as "if you don't answer these the right way it proves you are a right wing religious nutter" tells me nothing about the survey and everything about you. There are significant numbers of people in this world who would look at the survey and think " "if you don't answer these the right way it proves you are a liberal atheist nutter". I don't suppose there are many folks around here are thinking like that though.

I must agree with Gregg. I couldn't answer the questions with an "agree", "disagree" or "couldn't give a shit" response, even by degrees. I'll be interested to hear what its all about when its done, but feel I can't really answer truthfully and accurately.

Well, I liked it. I kept getting the vague feeling I was being stitched up, but couldn't be sure what I was being stitched up as - a reactionary old fart or an armchair revolutionary? or both? I'll look forward to the results, if anyone else deigns to complete it!
